First Presbyterian Church Douglasville presents: Community Production Company!
An opportunity for ages 6 to 12 years old to develop their love for music and to share those skills with the community.
Practices will be on Wednesdays, 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The Cultural Arts Council Douglasville/ Douglas County (CAC) in partnership with Douglas County Connects celebrates the holiday and its seven universal principles of Kwanzaa on Sunday, December 18th from 2 pm- 4 pm at the Cultural Arts Center. For over 30 years the Douglas County Connection, a Satellite of the Cultural Arts Council, has celebrated Kwanzaa in the community. This well attended event has attracted citizens and youth from around the Douglasville/Douglas County area. This event is free & open to the public.
The week-long celebration of Kwanzaa, which means “first fruits of the harvest” in the African language of Swahili, takes place from December 26 through January 1. Each of the 7 days are tied to a specific principle of the holiday; unity, self-determination, collective responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith. Come learn about the Kwanzaa Experience with the CAC and the DC Connection.
The Douglas County Connection was founded by Helen Catron in 1990. For over 30 years, the DC Connection has established, supported and sponsored community events that enrich the cultural experience in the arts, particularly as it relates to African American culture and history.
Congregation Ner Tamid of Marietta will have a Hanukkah Menorah Lighting in Marietta Square at Glover Park on Friday, December 23 at 6:30 pm. Come celebrate 31 years of “treecycling” with Keep Douglasville Beautiful and “Bring One For The Chipper” with a drive through event on January 7, 2023 from 9am to 2pm at Home Depot, 7399 Douglas Blvd. Trees can be dropped off at the Home Depot prior to the event starting the day after Christmas.

The Douglasville Police Department invites everyone to fellowship together while discussing topics impacting our community. Discussions are held on the 2nd & 4th Thursday of the month. (No 4th Thursday meetings in November or December, nor on holidays). We speak on local issues and work together as one for the benefit of the community. Free monthly educational field trips that are designed to keep students motivated towards their educational goals, reiterate what they are learning in the class room and create a positive environment for family engagement. Paid adults ($25) can bring up to 5 students at no charge. Admission, lunch and transportation included.
